Uncles have a special role. Not being our father, they can be a friend and a supporter in a different way than anyone else in our lives. They are both a relative and a friend; one of the few people able to be both. Whether they are crazy and weird and only seen at holidays or our fishing buddy drinking partner or mentor, the loss of an uncle is a particularly poignant one. especially Uncle John, we had so many happy times together, and a few fraught ones as well... Our thoughts are filled with the wonderful memories of a truly nice man with the decades of joy visiting John and Dot, I first saw him in a post war England when he was stationed at Burtonwood Air force base in Warrington, that was in the early 1950's when he fell in love with our Dot, the Maugers became an integral part of our life as did Berlin N J, that special connection that belongs only to Uncles. John you were one of the nicest men we have ever had the good fortune to meet, please wait for us on the other side, we love you Phil Jackie, Michelle, Renee and Estelle, and our Ted who never had the pleasure of meeting you, god bless John keep him safe xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
