Ross, Marie L.
(nee Walters) On April 16, 2008 age 93 years old, of West Berlin, NJ.
Wife of the late Vincent J. Sr. and mother of the late Vincent J. Jr.(Jimmy) and wife Irene. Survived by her loving and devoted daughter Joan M. (Mike) Borek of Atco, NJ a brother, Edwin Walters of Spain, also five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Marie was a member of the West Berlin Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for 40 years, she was the first police matron in West Berlin, and volunteered for 30 years at West Jersey Hospital. Marie was also the first director of the Miss ICCA Beauty Pageant, and brought the 4th of July Parade into West Berlin in 1950. Marie won the Ms New Jersey Senior America in 1990, entertained at several nursing homes and directed and danced at three senior citizen clubs.
Family and friends may call for a viewing Sunday evening 7:00pm to 9:00pm, at the Knight Funeral Home and again on Monday 9:00am to 10:00am with funeral services at 10:00am. Interment Berlin Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Lighthouse Hospice, Inc. 1040 N. Kings Highway, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
