Friend; Clarence ( Nick )

On May 19, 2024 age 97years of Spring Hill, Florida, formerly of Philadelphia PA. Nick was born on May 12, 1927 to Edwin and Sadie ( nee: Gallagher ). He was the father of the late John ( Christine ) Friend of Homosassa, FL and Robert Friend of Berlin, NJ.

He is survived by seven children, Rosemary ( Joseph ) Christinzio of Chesilhurst, NJ, Edwin ( Madlyn ) Friend of Spring Hill FL, Albert ( Ellen ) Friend of Laurel Springs, NJ, Joseph ( Adrienne ) Friend of Atco, NJ, Michelle Smith ( Bob ) Sparango of Egg Harbor Twp., NJ, Michael ( Mita ) Sparango of Daytona Beach, FL, John Sparango of Philadelphia, PA, and Carol Ann Sparango. Nick is also survived by a numerous number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Nick lived most of his life in Philadelphia before moving to Florida, He always put others before himself and always willing to give a helping hand. Nick asked Jesus into his life and we will see him again someday.

Nick serviced in World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the US Postal Service.

Services will be held Wednesday, May 29, 10:30am at the Knight Funeral Home, 14 Rich Avenue, Berlin, NJ 08009, where family and friends may call 9:30am. Interment Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.

In lieu of flowers the family strongly request donations in Nick's name be made to: Wounded Warriors Project. ( woundedwarriorproject.org ). This is a request due to two baskets of flowers are only aloud at cemetery.
