Joseph Lavacca 1957 - 2023 Joseph "Joey" M. Lavacca Joseph "Joey" M. Lavacca, age 66, of Berlin, NJ, passed away on November 25, 2023. Born April 28, 1957, in Camden, NJ., Joey was a life long resident of Berlin who enjoyed lively card games with family and friends, attending the 4th of July parade each year, and cruising around town on his bike. Joey is survived by his brother, John J. Lavacca (Teri) of Plant City, FL; sister, Mary K. DeStefano-Blackwood; sister, Blanche V. Ansaldo-Berlin; sister, Catherine A. Lavacca-Berlin; brother, William G. Lavacca-Berlin; sister, Margaret R. Schmidt (Edward)-Clayton; sister, Jeanette S. Musumeci (David)-Bear, DE; sister, Donna M. Richards (Jon)-Berlin; sister, Karen L. Lavacca-Cedar Brook; brother, Michael A. Lavacca (Catherine)-Wildwood. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Lavacca and mother, Catherine L. Lavacca (nee-Scanlon). Joey attended Berlin Community School for his primary education and Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corp for 4 years. After his military service, Joey had a successful career and retired from Super Fresh Supermarket in Hammonton, NJ. A visitation be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. at Knight Funeral Home, Inc., located at 14 Rich Avenue, Berlin, NJ 08009. A celebration of Joey's like will be held at 11:00a.m. In lieu of flowers the family strongly request that donations are made in Joey's name to The AWA in Voorhees, NJ. The compassionate professionals at Knight Funeral Home, Inc. are assisting the Lavacca family during this difficult time.
