Obituary of Albert G. Messina

On July 30, 2022 Albert G. Messina passed away in Deland, Fla. Albert was born and raised in Berlin, NJ. In his earlier years he worked as a stevedore on the Philadelphia Waterfront and was also co-owner of Cookies Garden Center in Berlin, NJ until 1987. Albert loved playing cards and gardening. In 2004 he moved to Deland, Fla. where he lived until his death. He is predeceased by his parents Charles and Frances Messina of Berlin and his brother Michael Messina of Fayetteville, NC. He will be sadly missed by brother Charles Messina and his wife Diane of Williamstown, New Jersey, his long time friend Brian Oesterling of Deland, Fla. and his Doberman Pincher Cosmo. All of his nieces and nephews Charles Messina and his wife Sherry of Winslow, NJ , Nicole Billow and her husband Mitch and their children Shane, Matthew and Jordan of Marlton, NJ, and Michael Messina and his wife Heather and their children Matthew and Sophia of Shamong, NJ, Kathy Martin and her husband Dean of Fayetteville NC, Frances Sawyer and her husband Brett of Fayetteville, NC and Patty Ross and her husband Chuck of Fayetteville, NC. A funeral service will be held on Friday, August 12th from 11:30am at Knight Funeral Home, 14 Rich Ave, Berlin, NJ. Family and friends may call at 10:30 am. Immediately following the the viewing he will be laid to rest at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 260 W White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ. In lieu of flowers make donations to a charity of your choice.
