A beautiful soul has departed our presence into the arms of God. Maryann Sorensen (née
Walter), aged 85, passed away surrounded by her loving family in the early morning
hours of Saturday, December 18th, 2021.
Maryann was born in Camden on January 23rd, 1936, to Theodore Walter and Anne
Walter and grew up in the neighborhood of Cramer Hill in Camden, New Jersey.
Maryann is survived by her sweetheart and husband of 63 years, Donald Sorensen;
brother, Theodore Walter Jr.; daughter, Cynthia Cianfrani and her husband, Marcus
Cianfrani; son, Matthew Sorensen and his wife, Daniela Sorensen; three grandchildren,
Lauren, Nicholas, and Michael; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A devoted and compassionate wife, mother, and grandmother, Maryann is remembered
for her kind, gentle disposition, and her gracious generosity.
Maryann was a woman of style and poise, a talented culinarian (cook) whose countless
meals brought together generations of loved ones through the decades. She will be dearly
missed by her family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 23rd, 2021, 10:30am were friends and family may call 9:30am at St. Simon Stock Parish/OLMC Campus, 178 W White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ, with Father Michael officiating the mass. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
