Charles W. Cannan Obituary

Cannan; Charles W. Jr. Went home to be with the Lord on July 14th, 2021 at age 85 years of West Berlin, NJ. Son of the late Charles Sr and Hazel (Nee: Erwin). Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years Carol (Nee: Cheesman), his son Craig and his wife LuAnn, a daughter Kimberly and a brother David and his wife Deborah. Also survived by four cherished grandchildren Trista, Brittany, Sean and Brianna and one precious great-grandson Chase. Charles (Chuck, Sonny) served as a crew mechanic in the Air Force from 1956-1962. After meeting his wife at Clementon Lake Park, he returned home from the service and married the love of his life. He was an avid outdoors man who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. He was involved in the 4H Club with his grand daughter and was an animal lover. When his children were young, he coached and mentored many of the kids in the community. He worked for Columbia House records/CBS Records in Pitman, NJ for 36 years. Charles lived in West Berlin for 60 years and touched many people in the community. Later in his retirement, he worked with the Berlin Township Police Department as a crossing guard. He will be sadly missed by many. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, July 21 at 10:30am at the Knight Funeral Home where family and friends may call 9:30am.
