Obituary of MaryAnn Fitzgerald

MaryAnn Fitzgerald, a long time resident of Berlin, NJ, died Sunday, January 6, 2020 peacefully at home with her son by her side. Born April 2, 1930 at home in Atco, NJ, Mary Ann was a consummate homemaker. Her passion in life was her husband and her family. She was the best ever Mother and was one of Catholic Charities’ preferred baby minders and foster Mother. Many infants were cared for by Mary Ann until they were adopted. Her chocolate birthday cakes were renown, as was her generosity. Mary Ann is survived by sons James and Anthony (Virginia) Fitzgerald, grandchildren Stacey Ann Rector, David James Fitzgerald, Anna Marie Fitzgerald, Anthony Fitzgerald, James Fitzgerald, and Erin Fitzgerald; Great grandchildren Patrick Shenton, Terra Ann Rector, Leann Love and Maria Concepcion Fitzgerald. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, as well as her lifelong best friends Louise DeSorte Bell of Atco, and Lorraine Treftz of Berlin. All will miss her stellar smile and non-judgmental way of being. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am at St. Simon Stock Parish, 178 W White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ, where family and friends may call at 9:30am, Monday, January 13, 2020. Interment Berlin Cemetery. A reception and lunch will follow the burial at Filomena’s Cucina Rustica at 12:30pm, 13 Cross Keys Road, West Berlin, NJ.
