On June 26, 2019, Gladys went home to be with the Lord and back into the arms of her devoted husband Samuel Jr. and son Samuel III and a lifelong resident of Berlin Borough.


Born in Camden, NJ , December 29, 1932 to Arthur and Laura Smith.


Gladys is survived by five loving sons,  Michael, Stephen, James all of Berlin, Gary and his wife Tammy of Pine Hill, David of Franklinville also thirteen grandchildren and nine cherished great grandchildren.


In the 70's she took the lead roll of the family owned business " The Berlin Deli ". Over the years she worked hard at several jobs including the Cherry Hill Inn, Serta Mattress, Zurich Insurance, and her dream job at Cigna Insurance. She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards as well as camping on weekend with her sister Katherine.


Gladys was a very strong and proud woman that held her family together with laughter and examples of determination. She lived life to the fullest.


Services will be held Tuesday, July 2, 2019, 12pm at the Knight Funeral Home where family and friends may call 10am.


Cremation will be private and the inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
