Obituary of Marie E. Knott
When you walk through a storm hold your head up high and don't be afraid of the dark. Walk on with hope in your heart and you'll never walk alone. The Lord had promised that he would walk alongside us. At the end of the storm is a golden sky. On the morning of Monday, September 25, 2017 the Lord walked alongside Marie Knott (nee: Devlin) and swept her off her footprints in the sand and carried her home.
Eternity begins and ends with the ocean's tides. Marie's eternity began in Burlington, NJ. She was a congregant of Centenary United Methodist Church, Berlin, NJ. Marie will be fondly remembered as a beautiful wife, loving sister and friend. These memories will linger on after the footprints she left in the sand are gone. One gift above all others that God gives us to treasure, one that knows no time and no place and one that gold cannot measure is the precious, tender gift of life. Marie had generously given a lasting legacy, she graduated from Glassboro State College with an associate’s degree which she went on to use by educating our youth at Edgewood Regional High School. Marie served fifteen years on the Berlin Borough Council and is still an active member of the Berlin Republican Club. Many years were devoted to her passion of history and arts by working on projects for the Long-A-Coming Historical Society and by being Past-President and board member of the Berlin Cemetery.
Love me tender, love me sweet, you have made my life complete and I love you so. Marie leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 51 years Walter “Jerry” Knott. She is the loving sister to Betty and Henry and has many devoted nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the Knott family on Monday, October 2nd between the hours of 9:30am and 11:00am at the Centenary United Methodist Church, 149 South White Horse Pike, Berlin. Memorial Service will follow. Inurnment will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marie's name to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Drive, Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
