Obituary of John W. Ollinger

John W. Ollinger, husband of the late Evelyn (nee Castner), went home to be with the Lord on May 10, 2017 at age 85.  Survived by sisters Bunny, Shirley and Jean; children Lois, Sue, Patty Anne, John, Donna and Michele; grandchildren Jimmy, Jason, Diana, Sarah, Lindsay and Santino; great grandchildren Madison, Gabriel, Carter and Cassidy.


John served in the Army during the Korean War from 1949 – 1955 working with heavy artillery and with the 82nd Airborne as a paratrooper.  He worked at CertainTeed for 35 years and held several offices in The Glass Bottle Blowers Association, including secretary, treasurer and president.  Listening to the Phillies and Eagles, being outdoors, working in the garden and on his special “projects” for the Berlin Market was how John most enjoyed his retirement.


Funeral services to be held on May 17, 2017 at 10:30 am.  Friends and family may call starting at 10 am at Knight Funeral Home.  Grave side service immediately following at Berlin Cemetery.


Family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the United Methodist Communities Pitman Fellowship Fund, in memory of John W. Ollinger.  UMCP 535 N. Oak Ave, Pitman, NJ 08071.
