Obituary of Richard J. Wahl

Wahl; Richard J. Went home to be with the Lord on March 31, 2013, age 80 years of West Berlin, NJ, formerly of Lewes, Delaware. Survived by his devoted wife of 59years Helen ( nee: Mclay ), four loving children Kathleen Valentino of Winslow Twp., Patricia Anderson of Sewell, Richard Jr. of Berlin, Steven of Berlin Twp., a sister Jean August of Delaware, three brothers, Fred of Florida, Phil of Tennessee, William of Mayslanding, also survived by eleven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Richard grew up in Delaware Twp. and graduated from Merchantville High School in 1951. He met his best friend and loving wife working in the Haddonfield ACME and then married in 1953. The two of them spent their lives loving each other and raising their four children. Richard was involved in Berlin Twp. children's sports, and a member of the Berlin Lions Club. Upon retiring Richard and Helen moved to Lewes, Delaware where he became an avid boater, and enjoyed crabbing, clamming, fishing and playing cards with friends. When they moved back West Berlin he loved being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. A graveside service will be held Friday, April 19, 2pm at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriot Way, Millsboro, Delaware 19966.
