Robert J.Rodgers 83, of West Berlin, NJ, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Phila., he resided in the Berlin area for nearly 50 years. Bob retired from RCA in 1986 where he held various management positions, high-lighted by work on the TV equipment used at the Olympics and lunar landing. He was proud to have served his country as part of the occupational forces in Germany after World War II. An avid sports fan, he was able to combine a love of golf and travel, having played many of the noted courses of the PGA tour. Predeceased by his wife, Katherine Jean Semko, Bob is survived by his six children: Cecilia Preston (Clifford Lynch), Robert J. Rodgers, Jr., Elizabeth (William) Grider, Eileen (Eugene) Reynolds, Jeanine Rodgers, Kathleen (Michael) Gurganus; his eight grandchildren, Robert and James Rodgers, Stephen, Jonathan and Claire Grider, Bridget and Molly Reynolds, and Emily Rodgers. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, Feb. 24, 2012 at the KNIGHT FUNERAL HOME, 14 Rich Ave., Berlin, NJ 08009. Friends may call 1:00 to 2:30 P.M. at which time a brief service will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Samaritan Hospice, 5 Eves Dr. #300, Marlton, NJ 08053-3101.
