Sally Dawkins passed away in peace this morning just four weeks shy of her 88th birthday.
She left this life to move to her next life that is likely dedicated to fabulous and often feisty divas with a penchant for blush, lipstick, kitties, bling (on their wings) and parties. Sally adored all her many friends – from 1st grade In Wilmington, MA (they’re still great friends!) through living in Oakland, NJ and finally, East Greenwich and Providence, RI. Her career as the “voice” of law firms in Providence reaped an abundance of amazing friends. All this written, she was particular about those she loved and believe me, you’d know in a heartbeat when there was no way to win her affection! When she loved, she loved loyally for life and through thick and thin.
We are immensely grateful to the entire Berlin (NJ) Nursing Home Evergreen team: the caring nurses, CNAs and aides who loved and cared for her these past two+ years, the activities team who made life fun under extraordinary circumstances, the Kitchen team who made sure she enjoyed great food, the Laundry team who laundered her clothes to perfection and the Samaritan Hospice team who guided Sally through this transition while providing love and support to her family.
Sally was predeceased by her parents, Roger and Marjorie Stillman. She is survived by her sister, Jane Kummel; daughter, Meg (Dulick) Paier, son, John Dawkins; grandsons, Matthew (Jamie), Joshua (Heather), and Steven (Annie) Berube. Her great children were her blessing: Mattie Rose and Paisley Lynn Dawkins, Harrison and Easton Dawkins, and Tommy Berube.
She will be loved and missed always.
