Dorothy B. Brown (nee: Burkhardt), 91 passed away peacefully on February 7, 2021, daughter of the late Harvey and Dorothy (nee Benton) Burkhardt. Dorothy was born in Camden, New Jersey on September 11, 1929. She was a lifelong resident of Berlin Borough. She is predeceased by her husband Thomas E. Brown. Known as Dolly to everyone that knew her, she loved her family and friends, her church and her Bill. She was a lifelong member of Centenary United Methodist Church in Berlin and was active in many of the church activities and women’s groups. Dolly’s second love was William (Bill) Brown of Berlin. Dolly and Bill spent over 20 loving and beautiful years together. They loved to travel and spend time in Bill’s garden growing all sorts of vegetables, especially Jersey tomatoes. You could always see them on a nice day sitting on the front porch together talking and visiting with each passerby especially the four-legged friends. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Dolly was a loving mother to her two children, Brian Brown (Susan) of Berlin, NJ and Brenda Johnson (Michael) of Gibbsboro, NJ. She is also survived by her one grandchild Connor Johnson, the love and light of her life. Services will be held at Centenary United Methodist Church Berlin on Tuesday, February 16th at 10:30am where visitation starts at 9:30am. (Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic all current guidelines and restrictions will be followed.) Burial will be at New Freedom Cemetery, Tansboro, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to Centenary United Methodist Church, 149 S. White Horse Pike, Berlin, NJ 08009.
