Obituary of Walter C. White

"God took you in his loving arms, He saw you needed rest." Walter C. White, 84, of Naples died February 26, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Verla (Beeler); two sons, Robert White of Marco Island, FL, Steven White (Gina) of Voorhees, NJ; and three daughters, Barbara Murphy (Max) of Voorhees, NJ, Sandra Liscio (Thomas) of Naples, FL, Linda Tortu (Tony) of Naples, FL. Walter "Pop" treasured his 9 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; Gina (White) Kovacs, Ashley (Murphy) DeMonte, Brooke (Murphy) Kanouff, Alexis Liscio, Thomas Liscio, Avalon Liscio, Christal Murphy, Danielle Liscio, Luk Tortu, Gianna Kovacs and Rory Kanouff. He was preceded in death by his eldest son, Walter C. White Jr. Services are Thursday, March 12th, 2015 at Christ Community Church, 325 E. Linden Ave. Lindenwold NJ., 9:30-11:30 Viewing, 11:30 Service, following the service a Christian Burial at Berlin Cemetary. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The American Heart Association and Alzheimer's Association. Walter C. White was the first Chief of Police in Voorhees Twp. in 1960 where he faithfully served the community for 25 years until retirement. After his retirement, Walter and his wife Verla relocated briefly to Turkey Point MD., 2 years later they moved to Florida where Walter enjoyed the rest of his life with his wife and family. He loved the gulf coast, boating and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. His legacy as loving husband and father was shaped by his strength, love and faithfulness. These memories will comfort us and keep him close in our hearts forever.
