Obituary of Madeline Strong

Went home to be with the Lord on October 1, 2014, age 95years of Berlin, NJ. Predeceased by her husband Wilbert and cherished daughter Rosemarie Adcock, three brothers Albert, Joseph, Anthony. Will be truely missed by her loving daughter Patricia Ebbecke of Hudson, FL, her sister Antoinette Ford of Holiday, FL, a sister in law Ethel DeCarlo of Magnolia, NJ, five grandchildren, Tammy Ebbecke-McNellis and husband Patrick of Berlin, NJ, Thomas Ebbecke and wife Marsha of Belvidere, TN, Deborah Adcock- Mackin of Mt. Ephraim, NJ, Thomas Adcock and wife Connie of Neptune City, NJ, and Raymond Adcock and wife Lynn of Mt. Royal, NJ, also nine great grandchildren, Jacob, Tara, Patrick, Joshua, Christopher, Megan, Allison, Greg, and Amy. Madeline was born on Halloween and always loved her birthday celebration. Her parents came to America through Ellis Island from Italy. When she was two years old, she traveled back to Italy with her mother and little brother Anthony by steamboat for a year. Upon their return she resided in Camden, NJ with her parents and siblings. During her teens she gave birth to Rosemarie and Francis (who passed at 11 months). Then in 1944 Madeline met and married Wilbert Strong. They moved to Berlin, NJ, where they raised their daughters Rosemarie and Patty. Madelin enjoyed gardening and canning the foods she and Pop-Pop grew. She loved to go out dancing and enjoyed singing, "It had to be me" and "Raindrops keep falling on my head" were her favorites. She also was very devoted to saying her prayers and prayed for everyone. Madeline loved to go out and eat at "The Garden "(The Olive Garden),and Joe Italiano's, but her absolute favorite place was being at Tammy's when the family was all gathered around, family was all that mattered to her. On her 95th birthday she was presented a certificate from Monmouth County, NJ that declared October 31st "Madeline Strong Day". In her final days she was comforted and surrounded by her loved ones. She was a beautiful women in all ways, and will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 7, 11am at the Knight Funeral Home, where family and friends may call 10am. Interment Woodbury Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to: Hospice of New Jersey, 226 Haddonfield Road, 2nd Floor, Cherry Hill, NJ 08002.
